2。明白易懂

如果作文不容易让人看懂，它就达不到预期的目的。选词要做到明白易懂，必须注意以下问题：

1）含义必须确定

不论使用书面表达还是口头表达，一定要做到自己明白，如果自己都不懂得它的含义，就拿来写文章，结果不是用错了，就是用得不恰当。例如，Liermiularexercisessothatshewouldbeasdelicateasherdangteacher。“Delicate”虽有“消瘦”的意思，但是同时还有“弱不禁风”的意思。写此句的学生显然不了解有一层意思。

2）避免生造词语

生造词语在学生中是常见的一个问题。主要表现为将汉语英语化，即所谓的“中国式英语”，例如，Manyprofessorsinthisuyhavepeadplumsallovertheworld。

学生误将“桃李满天下”表达为“Peadplumsallovertheworld”，而英语中“peach，plum”并没有“弟子、学生”的意思。

3。生动形象

生动形象一般是由修辞手法决定的，要做到这一点，应注意以下两个方面：1）活用词义

在具体的语言环境中，根据表达的需要，选用含义比较形象具体的词来取代那些含义比较抽象的词。例如，Heisagoodstudent（。他是一个好学生。）表达的概念笼统。Heisakindaudent。（他是一个善良而诚实的学生。）表达的概念具体。

2）灵活运用词的引申意思

活用词义还可以通过选用那些能引申出联想意义和比喻意义的词把抽象的事物说的形象具体。例如：Thedeathrateintraffitssoarsdramatically。（交通事故中的死亡率急剧上升），“soar”原义是指“鹰的展翅翱翔”，在这里表示“飞速增长”，比使用“increase”
